I love this centre. I make use of the pool, classes and the gym. The changing room, sauna and steam room are always kept immaculate. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. I’ve used the other facilities within the authority and Ashton is the best in all respects
I'm a regular user of the swimming pool here, and normally I would give it 5 stars, it's a fun, family friendly atmosphere most of the time, with the lifeguards being friendly, helpful and welcoming. However, on this most recent Thursday, there was an incident where a manager berated one of these lifeguards in front of me and the other pool users, Including children. This ruined the atmosphere, and led to me and others packing our things and leaving, due to the treatment of the staff, and the uncomfortable atmosphere it created. I would love to give this place 5 stars, but due to this incident I cannot, I hope Ashton leisure center can treat its wonderful staff better and help uphold the positive atmosphere they create.
My six year old started swimming lesson. 2 pools. And being in a wheelchair I'm able to view, get in to changing rooms and poolside if needed
Very good leisure centre but couldn’t understand why the all-weather pitches were closed unless you paid £20/£40 for a one hour session. It was half term and our group of four kids just wanted a kick around on their own schools’ pitch but couldn’t because of the cost.
Surely it wouldn’t do any harm to let kids play football on Council owned pitches in school holidays than leave them empty, after all it’s public money that pays for this facility.
Wanted to pay for a one of gym session as it says on the website it is £7.70 and I have been to Leigh leisure centre and done the same thing. When I arrived I was told I needed to do an induction before I could use the gym and that it was ‘£20 odd pound’.
Absolutely disgusting that you are charged so much for a MANDATORY gym induction. If it was optional fair enough. I’m a personal trainer and have never heard of this before.
You need to have a membership for a ‘more personal approach’ some people just want to use the gym!! And you want to make sure ‘everyone can use the equipment safely’ how naive of you to think in this day and age people can’t use a gym properly. This should be an OPTIONAL
Ridiculous wanting to charge £12 for an induction when not needed! Only wanted a day pass and would cost me around £22 overall! I’m currently deciding which gym I would like to go to and wanted to try it out but will not be paying that when other gyms are charging £5 for a day pass OUT OF ORDER
Lovely session here at 14:30 today. Be Well Wigan's aquatherapy with Nicola. 1st visit to this active, welcoming, caring & inclusive way of helping people exercise around their challenges. Try it!!
Took baby to his first swim tots, 12weeks old. Staff were lovely and helpful, changing area clean @ 9am. Plenty of baby changing facilities.
